I downloaded this and performed the first stage in installation, and then I ran into the licensing procedure. but decided not to complete installation due to the inconvenience of the licensing procedure on a PC that is not connected to the internet.

I have 10x the plugins that I ever use. I need another plugin like I need a hole in the head. (I dread when the day comes that I have to migrate my environment to a new PC.) Instead, I need to learn to make better music with the tools that I currently have and know how to use. It's not good enough that this plugin, which barely really want, was free; if I was compensated, say $50 for the time involved in installation and licensing it, I may reconsider.

Sad to hear people bothered by something offered for free...

I'm still waiting for a delay made by CW programmers ..
The freebe is ok for being free.. IMO it's the most basic delay made.
We need PC delay with a basic UI that explodes in a larger format such as the quad eq.

Ni 's delay traktor delay is my go to because of the freeze button . I been asking for a PC delay that has more than just a basic mono delay . I use that freeze button a lot. I use the sonitus delay for evey thing else .

Have you tried working with the Sonitus Delay? It's stereo... Quite versatile... And good sounding (subjective)... And it's been supplied with Sonar since some earl version... So long ago that I don't remember the version number...

It's been my go to ddl since then. I have quite a few others which I use for special situations, but I still go to the Sonitus first mist of the time...

I've been playing with the VKFX Delay for a few days now and yes... IRS a somewhat limited control... Very much in line with emulating early tape delays which it seems to do pretty well... And for free? I'm sure I'll find uses for it over time... And BTW... It has both mono and stereo modes...

Oops... I see you've been using the Sonitus as well... Never mind... ;-)

My gosh...some of you people would find something to complain about even if the upgrade was free.

As Andrew stated....YOU DON'T HAVE TO GET IT.

What's wrong with being thankful for something that is offered for free...?  And if you're not thankful for it....DON'T BE B**CHING ABOUT IT.

Me too, Keni. These sort of threads always appear when Cake give out freebies.

Sad indeed.

Most of you who have replied to my complaint are right. I should not have even bothered downloading the free gift, and I should not have wasted your time with my complaint. My PC is already cluttered with free gifts (and unnecessary SW synthesizers that I was seduced into buying) that I never use. In my case, the quality of my musical output would benefit greatly from improved musicianship, not from more plugins (free or otherwise).

I would like to nominate this one for the Face Palm post of the year.

I have been using the full VST version of VKFX for a long time. VK stands for vintage keyboard and the effects emulate the typical '70's keyboard effects chain very well indeed. It may not be the most fully featured delay out there but it does what it set out to do very well indeed.

Overloud have had my email for a couple of years and I have only received update anouncements and the occasional new product announcment from them. They are not IK with news of a fire sale every week.

I have to vote, nay...  See Keith's mea culpa in his post just before/above yours (No. 16).

Kind regards,

I like this delay, especially modes 6, 7, and 8. as far as the email address thing goes Overloud already has it because I got the full version of TH2. The email address is needed for the same reason cakewalk requires it. It is tied to your account. This allows you to go get updates and download the software again in case you have problems.

As far as the license issue goes. I put the unlock on a USB Thumb drive. This allows me to use it on a computer that is not connected to the internet. I can use it on different systems as well

This is a good retro delay that fits in the pro Channel. I like it. Thank you cakewalk and Overloud for providing it for free!
