As far as the license issue goes. I put the unlock on a USB Thumb drive. This allows me to use it on a computer that is not connected to the internet. I can use it on different systems as well

So you're saying that away from the Internet and with no free USB ports you can't use this plugin ?

I use my laptop offline and my ports are all taken with midi keyboard, mouse, I/F...

I have been using the full VST version of VKFX for a long time. VK stands for vintage keyboard and the effects emulate the typical '70's keyboard effects chain very well indeed. It may not be the most fully featured delay out there but it does what it set out to do very well indeed.  Overloud have had my email for a couple of years and I have only received update anouncements and the occasional new product announcment from them. They are not IK with news of a fire sale every week.

+1 same experience here. VKFX is really wonderful. The delay is wonderful.. To those who don't download it - your loss. The only real risk as I see it is you might like it enough to make the upgrade decision to VKFX - if you have too many (of the wrong) plugs you should clean house - that doesn't mean the right plugs aren't just a download away.

licensing is where the  issue is since anyone who can write code knows you make a good bundle and sell it. but having to go threw all the whopla to get to use stuff is a turn off. like I have IK white black and a nice waves FX bundle, but I dread installing them and haven't even bother since I like the full cake line out the box this time. its close to what I like and that good enough to make music .out the box is what I see making cake stronger , and far better than any other DAW and this plug if free should be just that.it gets even worse for the SVT junkie who have 300 plugs 10 of each FX. iv seen it at my friends house, I open the Fx bin and wow 2 thing came to mind
you registered all this' and
ever heard of a folder.

Sorry but I'm very happy with this great gift! Being able to add a nice sounding tape delay within the ProChannel with low CPU hit is a nice option. I hope Cakewalk isn't turned off by this kind of complaining and will continue to offer these freebies going forward. I also understand that Overloud will benefit if some users like the plugin and decide to buy the whole suite.

Just a hint: this is a business but we can all profit in different ways!

This problem is easily solved. I got a lap top cooling fan which also has a USB hub built in. just get a USB hub and plug it into one port. Now plug the mouse and the thumb drive into it. I even plug my midi controller into my hub with no problems at all. Then use your other ports (the ones built into your computer) for your audio interface and external drives.

Overloud will use a USB thumb drive like an iLok device. this same thumb drive that I have also unlocks my TH2 program (full Version)

The advantage to this is you can have the software installed on different systems, and when you want to use it you just use the thumb drive to unlock it. If your hard drive crashes then all you got to do is install the software. You never need to worry about unlocking it as long as you have that thumb drive.

So you can download the software on a computer that is plugged into the internet then unlock it to your thumb drive. Then just install the program over to another computer that is not connected to the internet. It takes about 15 minutes to do this depending on your internet speed. have both machines booted up and ready to go when you start this process.

Thanks Marcus.  Seems a bit extreme to have to carry a hub around just to use a plugin (free or not).

I'm glad Cakewalk itself has so far stayed away from this practice.

I agree. I am glad cakewalk stayed away from this practice too. The software has to be really good for me to iLok it. Ozone 5 offers this option too so it occupies the thumb drive. To do this for a free delay may seem kind of overkill, but I already have a thumb drive setup for this type of software with other iLok codes on it. For me it was no big deal. This may not fit your needs.

Hubs are cheap and cost very little. At least it would allow you to expand your USB ports. If you don't want to unlock the delay using a Thumb drive then you can unlock it the original way. They allow you to unlock it up to 3 times without a usb port.

This is really a cool delay. I like the feature of syncing with the host tempo. It fits in the Pro Channel. It sounds decent, and I think the last 3 modes are stereo.

Not complaining but the overloud delay is not a patch on the other modules they make. The layout doesn't work very well for instance.
If I bought it I would bit*ch and moan about it, however it is free so I'm very happy and it's not like it isn't useful (I used it on a lead vocal today), breverb though really is the daddy and I'm not sure I would return to it.
