I've got the X3 (basic) initially when it was released and will be ready to upgrade to X3 Pro soon.

Is it possible to install X3 Pro without having to remove the current X3 ?

X3 installed flawlessly on top of my previous X1/2 Pro and since it didn't take up a lot of disk space, I rather just let it sits there for the time being. I'm currently still at X3b, as it doesn't cause any problem for what I do.

Thanks!

You'd have to check with the baker, but from what I understand X3 (basic) is the same engine as  X3 Pro except for the Prochannel and "extras."  I've never had a problem laying over one version of SONAR over another, but I've never stepped up from basic to Pro.  I dont' know how much overwriting goes on.  If you save a restore point now, you can try to lay it over.  If that doesn't work, restore and try after removing basic.

But I would try to talk to someone at cake.  eVen the sales force could put you in touch w/ a baker answer.

I've got both on the same system. No worries.

Thanks for both your replies. Good to know I can install the Pro on top of basic.

Nonetheless I will do a backup.. My 'restore point' is to use Clonezilla to clone the whole C drive. I need to do one soon too, as it's being a while since my last full backup, it's slightly above 200GB without samples (samples on another drive).

When I installed X2, I was surprised that the trial version of X2 that I had installed earlier was still intact with none of it overwritten.
