I'm working on a project with X3 and somehow I've done something to prevent my being able to select clips on one track. Is there a property or something that I've set? All other tracks let me select clips, but the clips in this one track are grey and won't let me select them.

Hmmm... Archive and muting will make clips gray but won't interfere with moving them. Only Position Lock which puts an obvious lock icon at the left end of the clip will keep it from moving, and that by itself wouldn't gray the clip.
 
Possibly you're trying to move it by a much smaller amount than your snap value with magnetic strength at "Extreme"...? That could also make it appear to be stuck.
 
Do you get a move tool cursor when you hover over the top of the clip?

Well, whatever condition was set is "unset" now, but I don't know what it was. For a while I just couldn't select a clip on that track. Hmmm.... mystery is unsolved, but is out of the way for now. :)
 
BTW... some really good improvements in X3, and I've had no crashes, so something is even more stable than X2. I'm a very happy camper.

It sounds like you may have had the Edit Filter set to something other than Clips.   Changing that (explicitly) or simply Shift+Clicking on a clip would have set it back.

This was my first thought. Check your Edit Filter
