  • Console Emulator - Introduces Noise When Track Is Not Playing?

Hello Everyone,

First time user of the Console Emulators.  I just added one to each of my tracks and one on the master.   As I am adding them to each track, no problem, UNTIL... I get to kick drum track.  The second I enable it (N-type), it creates a high pitch humming sound (sounds as if a peice of electronics is on) and it appears the VU indicator on the right is almost in the red zone.

This only happens on this one track.  Can anyone help me with this?   All my other tracks are silent with the exact same setting, oh and I have NO effects before it.  Just a plain old audio track.  Here is the picture of it when Sonar is STOPPED!

Thank You,
Adam

It is a known bug with X3c on tracks with mono interleave and PC Console Emulation enabled. Try disabling the "64-bit Double Precision Engine" in Preferences > Audio > Driver Settings.

Spot on! That's a bad bug!  Just introduced with X3c for the first time?

Do I really need the 64 bit engine on?   It doesn't effect final mixes does it?  Im really not sure what that does.

Secondly, while I am at it...  maybe you would know...  should my bass drum be a mono track?  I make electronic dance music.  I always heard it should.

Thanks!
Adam

I can't tell a difference with the 64 bit thingy turned off at all. I really don't know what it does. The kick drum should be mono, but I don't think it really matters if it's a stereo track and the pan is set to zero. Maybe someone will chime in and educate us as to why it matters.
