Just thought I'd post a Pugtones oldie since I am in a hotel room (Snowbird, Utah) waiting for my wife to end a meeting.  This is one of my fav songs that we've done.  We are actually working on some new stuff!  Song is done and archived but I was hoping you might enjoy the listen for listening's  sake.   I still welcome critiques to apply to new tunes.  Thanks, and it's nice to be back!

I see motorcycles, route 66, & Blues Brothers.
And singer totally nails this one.
Awesome stuff especially on a free saturday.

Hi Warren,

Nice listen... I don't mind moving outside of my preferred "genres" for the Cakewalk Crew . And I've been listening to "ambient" stuff on SoundCloud for the last week or so, so this made a pleasant change...

I'm not qualified to comment on the mix... Sounded perfect to my somewhat limited skills. If I was to do anything, I'd have probably tried to make a bit more room for the kick. That bass guitar is quite strong.

But don't listen to me... I haven't a clue

cheers

Certainly within my preferred genres and total class in my book. Great tones and style from Mark and I love that syncopated narrative approach you went with the vocals. I must have missed this one when it was first up, great to see and hear you back brother Warren

Ha! Nice! Is this thing an oldie, as in, you are not gonna make any changes? If you open it back up, maybe think about starting with the full band from the get go. The first couple of bars of just guitar aren't nearly as strong an intro in my opinion, but the real groove is kickin so why not just go with that from the start!

Great guitar tones, great vocals and backing vocals. Love the prominent bass with no mud!

cheers,
-Tom

Hi Warren,
Really liked the track - Backseat Boogie.
Cheers, Kane

I REMEMBER THIS SONG....
i liked it then, like it now.
it's got a real uplifting kind of vibe,
sort of like the title implies (backseat boogies usually fog windows and show lots of cleavage)

dig the bass tone,
it's got just enough treble bite to give it definition, but never get muddy.
i like the pure clean approach of the guitar rhythm.
nice harmonies.

the song is fine as it is,
and any suggestions are purely subjective:

-more kick drum.
-if they are programmed, less hi hat fill, and less ride, would make it feel less constrained.
-agree that the opening guitar part needs some beefing up.... now, i like the skinny tones, and they sound great during the song.... but on the opening measures, if it were ME, i'd either track a 2nd guitar part, and pan em hard left and right...... or......... i'd copy that track, eq it different, move it back about 2-5 ms, and then pan it hard left and right, just for that beginning, go back to the way it is for the rest of the song.
