Scott, recieved your book here in the Netherlands via bol.com. Got Sonar 8 power previously, so I am familiar with your writing style. From my experience and the first look, this book will not only help me teach how to work with X2 but also will introduce some unthought possibilities of what I could do with this immense software package.
I will write a review in time on this Dutch webshop's site. Respect!
Hey Richard... thanks very much! I still find it amazing that my books are available all over the world. I had never heard of bol.com, but it looks like a nice site. In addition to that site, and only if you have time, could you also post your review up on Amazon and in the Cakewalk Store?

Your music sounds interesting and SONAR definitely has the tools to make all kinds of electronic music. When you mentioned randomly generated sounds, I immediately thought of the automation feature in SONAR that allows you to change synth parameters over time in a project. One of the settings of the Draw tool is the Random setting, which can automatically generate random values for automation. It provides some very interesting possibilities.

Thanks again!
Scott

Hey Tim... that's great news and thanks very much! I'm glad the book made it safe and sound all the way to Germany. After you've had a chance to look through it, and only if you have time, could you post a review up on Amazon and in the Cakewalk Store?

What kind of music are you making with SONAR? Just curious...

Thanks!

Hey Mike... yeah, I saw your review appear up there this morning. Thanks very much! I really appreciate it. Just don't take too many bathroom breaks while you're at work... the boss might start wondering.

Hey Mike... great blog! Well, I guess you can take all the bathroom breaks you want.

At least now you have plenty of time to make music, right?

Scott,

A newbe here. Even though I've read all 1900 pages of the Sonar X2 User's Guide, I reviewed several pages of your new book and thought it was well written and picked up a few tid-bits even in the sample pages.

Just ordered from Amazon! Looking forward to reading it.

Hey Walt... good to meet you, and thanks very much for ordering the book! I hope you enjoy it. Yeah, it's definitely different than the manual. You can read it cover-to-cover and it will take you through SONAR's features step-by-step. And there are plenty of additional tips and techniques included throughout the book.

After you've had a chance to look through it, and only if you have time, could you post a review up on Amazon and in the Cakewalk Store?

Yes, Scott, I will write a review of your book. I'm reading from cover to cover, at the moment. And so far it's been a very good read!

As far as what music I make: It's mostly hobby songwriting, for myself, and mixing friends recordings and just overall "tinkering". I've always wanted to have my own "studio" and Sonar is making it happen ;)

Thanks again for your book. I've been hanging out more and more at digifreq. There is tons of information there, too! Thank you for that, also!
