I did not intend to imply anything negative, Alex.

What I shared with the op was in the cooperative spirit you described.

I really dont see why my drivers should need to be updated? But I will check that out later today.. Is there a way in X3 to find out the "cause" of a problem or an error log/reporting tool of some sort? I will be able to "test" more later tongiht once I get into studio and get back to work...

Thanks

Engine crashes are a classic sign of dodgy drivers. The engine directly hooks into your audio driver for instance. If that doesn't work please disable the 64 bit double precision engine and see if that works.

Thankyou....

what you are seeing is not normal of course so I suggest you contact tech support, or at least have you posted your own threads in the forum for help?..

I had previously disabled the 64 bit engine because of the other documented issues (quad curve eq/ CE). PREVIOUSLY I had always used the 64 bit engine. I'll try enabling it to see if that fixes the problem.

I did update the drivers/software for my interface (Saffire Pro 40 but it is still crashing on the speed comping.

So you are on mix control 3.3...
Anyway not just your audio drivers please check my first post. Also please run windows update there were some major fixes recently.

Finally please could you give some information in your footer like mine, I didn't know you had a saffire for instance and I don't know your os.

As we see different behaviour for others and it is an engine crash, you need to explore these possibilities first. Thank you.

Good idea about enabling 64 bit.

Thanks
