Hey Gang,

So I have used X2 since the day it came out. I have many projects (unfinished) I wish to finish in X3.

I recently purchased X3 and installed it on top of my X2, I have all the latest updated (C, I believe).

What is the best way to export my X2 projects for importation into X3? For you vets, is there anything I should be aware of in doing this?

Thanks everyone, Love ya all!

Back up the project first! :)

Have a backup as Alex sez.  Then simply open the old project in X3.  Save it as something like  "my project X3."  Done.  You can work on the project w/ the X3 file and you'll have the old one for safety.

yup, just what they've said,

every new version that comes out I like to back up all songs first.
then each new song I load I save that song as Example:
in x2 it was called- better than eva.cwp
in x3 I save it as - better than eva x3.cwp

One thing I would add, try to finish some of your projects on X2 first for a couple of days before upgrading. Get some of them out the way done and dusted....
Easier said than done I know... I know you won't take this advice :).

Keep in mind that since you did not delete X2 prior to installing X3, X2 is still available should you need it. Cakewalk installs products side-by-side, older versions are not removed when installing upgrades.

Thankx! I wondered since it still showed in my drive, I just didn't test it. Now I really have no excuse for not taking CakeAlexS's advise :)
