  • X2: Oh boy. I can't seem to find a straight up Deesser or recall which plugs have one.

Could have sworn there was a simple Deesser plug which I must have imagined and I just poked around some of the Sonitus stuff but can't recall which one(s) have a deesser setting. I don't really want to load the tracks up with the Vintage Channel (guitar tracks... lots and lots of guitar tracks).

Perhaps one of you fine gentlemen could refresh my memory? Thanks.

Thanks sharke. Trying to avoid the really heavy duty/resource hungry ones for track by track use though. Not even sure it'll do much for these guits but thought I give it a try. Not sure how effective a deesser would be on a bus considering it seems like something that should be focused on specific frequencies of specific tracks.

Meh. They do already sound pretty slick (everything I do aside from HP/LP/notch filtering takes away from the sound). Probably overthinking it as usual. Just wanted to experiment. Cheers.

Okay... I think these are fine as is with just the EQ tweaks. Still curious about a simple Deesser though. I could swear one of the Sonitus plugs had one.

You could use the Sonitus Multiband Compressor as a de-esser. Here is an old knowledge base article about it http://www.cakewalk.com/s...reader.aspx/2007013063

With the VX64 you just need to turn on the section you need.

Thanks, scook. I am familiar with that technique but didn't have a text based tut so that's been bookmarked. I was going to give that a try if I couldn't find this imaginary deesser I seem to have dreamed up (lol... I must be going crazy-er). For these specific tracks though I think I've got with just the EQ. Kind of surprised me actually but I guess there's a reason I love TH2 so much. Very easy to work with. If I was GR I'd probably be doing all sorts of wacky stuff to get it how I like.

One thing I did too was turn the TH2 gate completely off since there isn't any "silence" after I trimmed it all. It was having more of an effect on the signal than I thought but when I originally set these tracks up last year I HAD to turn up to where it was to get the noise down. Figured I had to leave it that way but apparently not. Hooray!

Hi, John. Does having other elements of the plug turned off save a significant amount of processing power? Cheers.

It should Beep.

Right on. I'll keep that in mind. Cheers.
