Please listen, all crits are welcomed!

I started this in 2011, wanting something simple, some kind of butt rock I thought, just so I could learn up some Sonar goodness. Here it is, a mere four years later.

I'd seriously love any comments that can help me make it better!!

Hiya Tom,

There's nothing I can say that would help you to improve your song I'm afraid Tom.

As always, your songs make me smile

I have to ask... Is it just me, or does the early part of the song sit over to the left a little? Might just be the vocals and bass, but I think its the drums too. A bit later in the song, bass and vocals seem to have moved back towards centre.

Might be me, and I'm listening on headphones as usual, so I'm going to pick up on this kind of thing, more so than listening on speakers.

Nice guitar work... I like that

cheers

Sounds most excellent, my fellow caveman.  You probably already know my advice.  Remember the past, but focus on the future and make it even better.

Time to evolve forward to your next song. :)

This is really good just the way it is Tom. Mix is pretty good, with just the right touch of crunchiness in the drums and bass to give it nice weight. Guitars are good throughout. Some of the vocal panning is different than what you usually hear, but it sounds okay, though I'd prefer to hear panned delays instead of panning the vocal itself.

Good work!

Regards,
Dan

thanks Andy Synkrotron! There are definite moments of throwback hard panning, I was shooting for the style of the maybe early 70's - the whole song is about a throwback so I thought it might fit.

thanks, Dan! I appreciate the comments, particularly the "crunchiness" - which often comes with it's evil twin , "mud"
 - a better mixer would clean this up, I'm still not satisfied but  . . .

- as Walt said, time to evolve rather than devolve! Lots more tunes to do!

and thanks Bapu!

Hey, it seems I'm not alone in starting a project and getting it completed years later!!! Kudos to all the weekend warriors here.

cheers,
-Tom

Welcome to the club of procrastination ;)  I, too, love the song and the throwback vibe.  The lyrics are clever and the message is timely.  The panning is weird, for me, but beyond that, this is a hit.

Well done Tom.

I agree clever lyrics and you have a vocal delivery that grabs attention, sounds like you have plenty of fun doing it.

I cant really crit much, it a simple track which works well. Too long for my taste, but the many changes probably make Tom...well sound like Tom!

Good stuf,

Cian

Haha, yeah, I've got a 1974 quadraphonic mix of Black Sabbath's Paranoid and that has some really off the wall panning going on

LOL! Cian, don't bother listening to my eight minute long track then (which of course means, please listen to my eight  minute song...)
