Loved the tune, Tom, so much so that I would say that I'd like to hear a little more clarity (or maybe level) on the vocal because I think the songs message is that good.

Tom,

Nice one, very clever.   You sound a little like Alice Cooper;)   Like it.

Also listened to some of your Jazz piano playing while on your site.   Very diverse talent.

very nice song + mix ! enjoyed listening to it and you can tell the band really enjoys the music.

since you're asking....and just hoping it helps....here's some things I'd change
(I'm still learning to mix, so don't shoot me...).

the vocal would benefit from some growl/grunt, maybe add some saturation and a little reverb or delay.
also sounds like singer was a little too close to the mic (hear some lips/mouth noises).
would take 0.1 or 0.2db off the vocals overall to let it sit better in the mix.

would add a steep curve EQ at 5024 to the drums for some presence (they sound just a little distant, but fine).

Thanks much!

Cian - trade you voices any day of the week!

Lynn - thanks, let's start a Throwback Club.

Phil - thanks for thinking the message is important, I agree, but it's all in vain, isn't it? Progress wins.

Markno999 - I really appreciate your compliment, and I'll be getting a bunch more solo piano stuff up soon. I'm pretty sure Alice Cooper also played a mean cocktail piano  :)

Wouter - Good ears! I totally agree on the mouth noises, I could do without those. I'll go drop a little compression off of that vocal. That's also a very specific drum EQ recommendation, sounds like some upper snare or hi-hat presence you are wanting? I will check it out, thanks!  And I'll pass along your compliments to the band next time I see them. Probably when I brush my teeth later.  :)

cheers,
- Tom

OK, I get the humour in that one.

It's got that retro feel, though when the Farfisa (?) comes in sounds more 60's to me.    Mix-wise the balance does seem a little one-sided in certain sections.   But either way it's a fun tune!

I enjoyed listening to this.  Can't think of a thing I would change.  Totally interesting production. Great song.

Good stuff Tom, it's a treat through headphones, I like the panning madness

Hi Tom,
It's a nice tune and good mix !

As you were asking... I was expecting and missed an accent on about 1:00 right after "Caveman" word. It exists, but on my taste all the intro was moving to this entry point and it's asking for a big accent (maybe just a volume)
Love beautiful EP sound and just feel that it disappears a little too fast around 2:40
Anyway, it's just a personal opinions and your own vision as an artist have always a higher priority :)

Again, well done!

Cheers,
Julian

'Tis rare that I listen to the same tune twice, but I enjoyed this one so much that I came back for the encore.
