Chuckebaby, that's EXACTLY what I would do if I had a version of cakewalk. As I said my pc crashed....fortunate for me I had all the songs on external drive...but no way to open the .cwp files so I could bounce them respectively. Thanks for thinking about it

My apologys I didn't read your OP good enough.
Have you tried opening Sonar in safe mode ?
 It might be an old plug in that's causing the crash. It could also be a missing update of visual/C++.
It could also just be Sonar itself crashing. But give Safe mode a try.

Wow, this forum really works. Thanks for all the replies. The computer can be fixed and would probably be the best solution, I suppose. I was hoping to start over with the mac...., but ran into the problem of opening the cwp files. Bristol-jonsey, I originally purchased this as a download version from sweetwater music and it is registered...so as Cactus music suggested, i guess I can re-download it? I didn't know that buty will see if i can find a link to do that and just load it on another pc, if possible.

Oh, and Rabeach, I did download the mac-prototype, but it won't open...appears to have a glitch. I may try to re-download it and see if it was in the downloading itself. Hey guys , I'm kinda old and dont like computers stuff too much, so simple is my mind.

You would have had to set this up to originally download and authorize Sonar. 
But there's no reason you could not install Command Centre and use that to update and install everything. 

i tried the command center and attempted the MAC prototype download, but get an error code when I try to open it. Then there's no tech-support available, only faq's.
I will get a pc and see if I can download the original version. Thanks so much, Cactus

You should download everything you have on your MY Products page ASAP and back it up to a few places.
