Hi,

Just wanting to know what effect this is and if any of the sonar studio features can do this, it is Fin singing the Freak City song, (I know its pretty random :) )

Trying my darndest not to comment on the material in that link, this effect could be achieved relatively simply by overusing and abusing Melodyne Essential, which is included in Sonar X3 Studio and Producer.

fun tool to use, we got lots of giggles playing with this....  Had my wife sing, while singing she didn't know I was recording with melodyne.  Did the Finn thing and now she got me sleeping outside with the dogs - doh!

I don't really get what you mean by "recording with Melodyne" but I'm glad you had fun :)
Hope it wasn't too cold out last night.

I mean using the standalone copy "melodyne singletrack (64).exe" not via sonar

Addition to autotuning, isn't there some decimation or bit depth reduction going on too?

I don't know about bit reduction, but in Melodyne you put everything to the center of the pitch and flatten the vibrato to get the robotic sound.  You might need the full editor version to reduce the attack speed to basically zero.

what version of melodyne would be able to do this effect.  I'm finding I can get to something resembles it but yet so far to the same effects as Finn.

I've read through the various versions offered from celemony and not sure which would do the job.  I'm only a hobbyist and would like to know if the melodyne assistant ($149 upgrade) can do this effect, or would it come down to the full editor version upgrade ($299), or studio bundle upgrade ($599)?
