Lots of times when I'm tracking a song SONAR will freeze, not drop out, but the whole program will freeze and eventually close. It's taking about 2 seconds to start playing when I hit the spacebar too which I thought was weird. I can just be playing the song back and it will freeze sometimes. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I LOVE x3 other than these annoying hangs! That's why I upgraded from an AMD dual core processor and 3 GB RAM. I hoped it would resolve these hangs and crashes.

What do you have disk buffers set at, and can you reproduce this if you put the project and audio on the internal drive?

It shouldnt be but to be honest when I go to task manager to end the processes it wont end the process. It would be great if I could find a list to optimize my computer for audio even further. Ive googled optimization and done the usual things. Should I tick background services? Some say do and some say it doesnt matter. And I hate not being able to have the internet on during recording in case I need to refernce something real quick or something like that. My computer has a wi fi card too, does that make SONAR go haywire? Thanks!

I have not tried the projects on the internal drive, I'll do some tinkering and get back to you... Thanks!

Eric I need better system information acer aspire ...what? ..show me its home or support page
also thats a 3ghz processor .. install cpu-z and confirm that its delivering full speed and that its not being limited in bios with power saving options
1 TB external HDD SATA for project files(7200 rpm) should be a internal drive !

I also have maximum performance selected in power options. The CPU supposedly has some sort of turbo enhancer that works up to 3.2 Ghz when it needs to according to the description.

where do you check the hard disk buffers? Do you mean in Sonar Edit-Preferences-sync and caching?
