Starise,
Wow simply beautiful, composition and playing.  The strings are so pristine and played so well.  I love the style and it really took me away listening to it.  The mix sounded great on my system.  It sounded great as an instrumental but I could also get into this with vocals as well.  Nice stuff for sure!

Hi Tim, the Celtic stuff of your is really compelling - check here for a link in my blog a while back - and this one continues your impressive run!

I can only offer one little crit - I think there are a few spots where your elements are not in rhythm. I know in the slower songs, I find keeping on that beat challenging, and if you are going for the re-creation of a real group of musicians playing this, then their timing would not be spot on either.

You might give :38 - :40 a listen, for an example, acou guitar and the bell-like thing hit differently. There might be four spots like that in your  piece. Everyone else mentions the incredible atmosphere (yes!) and the clarity of your mix (again, yes!) and I agree.

whatever the Gaelic is for "muy bueno" . . .

cheers,
-Tom

Thank you for the comments guys. I always feel as if I can get an honest evaluation and hear some good music when I come here.

JulienRay- Thanks!

synkrotron- Thank you ! I appreciate your comments !

Mike- Much appreciated! I feel a goal has been met when people actually like the music :) Thank you!

Rik- Good to see you back! Thank you!

Warren- Thanks man! Anything new in the works?

ohgrant- Thank you!

Wouter- I am thinking about vocals on this. I'm talking to someone else who can really sing...pro trained Mezzo soprano...I have my fingers crossed. The main thing is writing a good rich lyric. Thanks for that link and your comments!

SteveC- Good to hear from you. Everytime I go into walmart I think I might bump into you lol...Thanks for those comments. I worked fairly hard to get it panned and find a reverb I liked...so I'm very happy to hear your comments :)

9thaspect- Thank you!

Tony- Thank you! I hope to find a more regular vocalist soon. I also thought it could use an airy female vocal.

Wookie- Thank you for those comments my friend. Which ship did you listen in? I know you like some decent background music when your dismembering...err...feeding ;)

Tom- Thank you! That link doesn't seem to be working for some  reason. I hear those things you mentioned. I might go back and see if I can make the attacks a little closer. I knew someone was bound to hear it...not bad but it could use a little tweaking for sure. It does have more of a live sound as the result of that I think. I don't know if you would agree or not, but sometimes different types of attacks don't seem to fit together as well as others....

Rimshot- Thank you Rimshot!

Ha! Turns out, you have to be 100% accurate when you put link URL's in . . . sheesh! Link fixed, it's towards the bottom of the page.

I also agree that in some cases, the simultaneous attack of two clashing instruments might be harsh, perhaps if both are percussive or sharp or in the same eq register . . .

I hope your adventures with the vocalist work out, but I think your song stands pretty strong as it is!

cheers,
-Tom

Tim, I have to agree with Tom on the timing issues, there are a few, but the overall song and concept for what you are trying to achieve are spot on. I'd work on this one so it can be a great keeper.

Peace and Blessings, John
