I'm TIRED!!!! of asking for help from Cakewalk community.

I can see how writing those 18 posts would wear a man down, yeah.

@Mattieb - tech support opens at 1:00 est.  If you also post your cell phone in an email to Andrew, they might actually call you sooner than that.

Cakewalk tech supp has been VERY active since the X3 launch, and as indicated in this thread, they really are interested in getting you all squared away.  (As are us in the forum).

@Mattie.B There are likely multiple issues to sort through, from what you reported.

1.  Your plugin issues may stem from one or more older plugins that may not run properly in X3.  Once the X2 and X3 software gets stabilized, without adding your plugins just yet, we can collectively look at which plugins it all falls apart on, and get you fixed back up.
2.  The plugin manager from X3 replaces the one from X2, I think (not sure, but think so).  It may be that you need to do COMPLETE removals of both X2 and X3, including registry keys and hidden folders, followed by installing X2 again to get it back working for you.
3.  Make sure your Windows maintenance is up to current levels, as some X3 routines require certain minimum levels for redistributable routines and such.
4.  Independently of the other issues, I recommend you run both DPC Latency Check and LatencyMon to make sure one or more background service or device driver is not interfering with audio streaming on your laptop.  WiFi is one that can cause issues.

So, hang in there, lots of potential help here, and once you do get stabilized, you should be fine, as there are lots of folks running X3 successfully at the moment.  (I do not know if the X3c reported issues have been resolved yet, I am running X2b with no issues).

Hi Mattie,

I understand being frustrated when a product seems to have problems, but... If I look around and see the vast majority of other users of that product are quite happy with it, my first response would most definitely NOT be to start blaming the product.  Perhaps.. just perhaps.. the product is okay and something else is the problem.

I work with plants every day in my gardening business... and the OP smells like one...

As usual, several wonderful forum members have contributed much more time to trying to help this yokel out than the dweeb spent describing the issues/problems...

I think the burning guitar says it all...

So I deleted EVERYTHING, old versions of Sonar, 3ed party plugins, all that. Then reinstalled X3. That seemed to help make the plug in manager work properly. Then I just had the plug search from a different folder. That pretty much worked. Only a few more bugs to work out now but at least it's functional.
