The real culprit seems to be:

Highest DPC routine execution time (µs): 2159.90250
Driver with highest DPC routine execution time: ohci1394.sys - 1394 OpenHCI Port Driver, Microsoft Corporation

That looks like a firewire driver. If you are not using the firewire interface, pull the firewire card out (if it is a separate card), or disable in BIOS. If your audio interface uses firewire, you will need to resolve the DPC latency by determining what else shares the interrupts for the firewire. If you are using a USB interface, you should not need the firewire port.

Dan

BIG thanx to all for yur help....so far.

Here is a couple of screenshots that seem to underpin what has been suggested. Funny thing it didn't glitch while playing the CW demo?

My Q is where do I go from here seeing as tho it's (am I right?) USB & FW that are the main culprits & I'm runng RMW FF800 FW? Is 4G ram too small..??

PS ANYONE KNOW HOWTO PASTE the screenshots....can get it in but displays code only.....DOH!

If you're on a 64 bit OS it probably is a bit low.

I have the same issue with X3.  It didn't exist with X2.

I have X3 and X2 on my home PC. They both do the Now Time marker thing.

It's worse in X3. It won't move in X3 until I stop moving the mouse. But only when the mouse is in Track View. If the cursor is outside the TV, no problem.

With X2 while cursor is in the TV the "Now Time" marker just jump every now and then.

But I get no glitches or snap, crackle, pops in X2 or X3 when this is happening. Even playing a 29trk (with minimal plugins) audio project.

Although it seems like this isn't the problem in your case, I got the same symptoms once after a video card driver "update" happened automatically. I since learned to turn off automatic updates. I don't care if an update improves frame rate in "Intergalactic Death Zombies of the Coaxial Galaxy."

Oh, and one more suggestion - it's easier to get specific answers if you ask specific questions. "This is Not Good?" could be a thread about what to do if a cat pukes into your keyboard.

I had a similar issue with my Logitech M510 laser mouse.  When I switched out to a Microsoft blu-track optical mouse the issue went a way.  I did not have this problem in X2.  It seems there is an issue in X3 with high interrupt devices like laser or gaming mice which have 10 times the interrupts to the OS than a normal optical mouse does.
