I have an instance of Native Instrument's Massive on a track. But when I look for its parameters in an automation lane's edit filter, they're not there. All I have is the usual track parameters (pan, send volume etc) plus all of the ProChannel parameters. But Massive is not there like it should be. 
 
I inserted another instance of Massive as an experiment, and its parameters are there as expected. The only thing I can think which is different about this track is that I loaded Massive as a "replace synth" command (previously it was Kontakt). Thinking there might be a bug associated with Replace Synth, I tested that on a new track but didn't see the same problem. 
 
I really cannot think what can be different about this track that it would fail to show the synth's parameters in an automation lane. Any ideas? 

I managed to fix the situation by assigning a control via the synth rack, but of course this doesn't explain why Massive wasn't in the edit filter dropdown in the first place. 
 

Does this happen when you use another synth other than massive as replacement synth?

Well it was just on this one track. I tried other synths (including Massive) on an experimental track and they all worked fine. I'm hoping this was just a random oddity which briefly showed itself.
