I upgraded to TH3 and to me, it's been worth the price of upgrading. The harmonizer is a big improvement over TH2. There are plenty of usable presets to customize with none to minimal tweaking.  The best thing to do is download the demo and test it out. Think of this as a test drive and if you don't like it, don't buy it.  There is a lot of time and money that is spent on R&D so this should be considered in the value of a product.  IMHO, it's easy to bash software products but in reality if you don't test the demo out and complain, then well, you are a complainer.  Check it out and see if TH3 meets your personal needs, I did and it works great for me :)  P.S Don't forget that there are also patches for Bass guitar!

As many of you may have already seen in your emails (depending on your Overloud and/or Cakewalk email preferences), TH3 just released 2 Collections - "Rock" and "Metal" for $69 each, if you're wanting a more affordable intro into the world of TH3.
It's good that they've done this, IMO. Amplitube 4 has the absolute best purchase/sample business model of all of these plug-ins. Buy only one amp if you want, or one stomp box, or one cab... buy one amp, 2 cabs, 3 stomp boxes and 4 mics if you want ... buy a whole collection ... or buy the entire library.

Hopefully other plug-ins will start to pick up on this model.

I started a thread in software (should've been in deals?)hoping to find out if there's any overlap to the lite TH3 version included with SPLAT. I plan to check out the Rock one. I agree that IK's ways are very good. I have expanded my AT4, T-Racks, and ST3 stuff, plus I got the Miroslav 2.
I haven't really done much with TH2 nor 3, yet.

Sounds a lot like my set-up ... I got Amplitube 4 (Fender collection, Metal collection, Ampeg collection, and tons of additional stuff from the Custom Shop), ST3 and Philharmonik 2. Haven't invested in TRackS, though, because I have tons of other effects and processing plug-ins I'm very happy with.

I do have the Sonar Plat. version of TH3, and honestly some of those presets sound better than the Amplitube 4 equivalents. Others, not so much. I'm planning on downloading TH3's demo to get a more in-depth comparison, now that they have at least 2 collections I can choose from. Not sure I want the whole shebang ... but maybe the demo product will change my mind.
Film at 11 ....

Oddly enough, I recently found my current favorite distortion sound from one of the Blue Tubes plug-ins that come with Sonar Pl. It's their ValveDriver plug-in, in a custom effects chain that includes Cakewalk's Quad Phaser, Waves' Supertap Delay, and Overloud's Breverb2.

Interestingly, Overloud has made the on-board effects for Antelope Audio interfaces (http://antelopeaudio.com/...-tools-at-namm-2016/). I'm digging their new Zen Tour.
