The current price to upgrade from all versions of Melodyne Essential (the one bundled with SONAR) is $399 on the Celemony site.

The update (essential > editor 4) price on celemonys store is 299,00 EUR, which should $336,00 today.

Still USD 399 here (Southern California, logged in as Essential owner). I was too broke to get the good upgrade price when this was first bundled with SONAR, and I know there have been "sales" since then, but I have missed all of them somehow.

I'm with you all the way on this Larry! Always seem to miss the sales

Thanks for the explanation. I remember Cronus.dll as being something that we'd disable in plugin manager. Can that affect V-Vocal?

I don't know, but given that V-Vocal seems to want it, I would assume so.

I realize Melodyne is not cheap, but I have to say that what they've accomplished for what is a relatively small market is pretty incredible. It's easy to think Essential is "good enough" because indeed, it does fix pitch really well. But Editor takes it to a whole other level, especially when you start exploring the nooks and crannies, and realize how much more it can do just vocals. Envelope-followed flanging, anyone?

I briefly checked out Essential, when I 1st got Platinum and it seems that it wouldn't do as well as V-Vocal and if I wanted something as good as V-Vocal I'd need to upgrade to Melodyne Editor. Am I correct about this?

Yes Gerry, at least that's my understanding.

I upgraded to Assistant but really it doesn't do a lot more than Essential.

I reckon I can just about afford the upgrade to Editor now (currently stands at £119.00 @ musicmatter.co.uk)

But to get to Studio from Assistant is still a whopping £339.00

What's the lowest price upgrade that will do polyphonic?

Pretty sure only Editor & Studio do the poly thing

Gerry I looked at the hang dump you provided and replied to your CWBRN-54500 case. The hang occurs when VVocal tries to open its UI. Something is running out of resources and causing the hang. I expect that this is some kind of low resources issue or memory corruption. The problem itself isn't inside SONAR so there isn't much we can do to address it unfortunately since Cakewalk doesn't own the code for VVocal.

The problem is gone with V-Vocal causing a hang. I think 2016.09 early access did the trick after all. When I originally installed it. I also did all the Win updates right before, then I installed 2016.09 and instead of rebooting I chose to open it and did the test and reported back to you that it was still a problem. I think if I had rebooted it would have worked fine.

I just did a very thorough test of all the problem files I’ve had and every single one worked perfectly. And one thing that’s quite different is how fast V-vocal opens it’s window. A week ago it only opened fast when I used the default template, now it opens very fast with all my CWP files. So now I’m wondering if what ever you fixed with the Melodyne region FX window also fixed V-Vocal.

I certainly understand what you said about not being able to proceed any further because of the V-Vocal code. Thanks for all your efforts. You're the best.

Hi Noel, sorry to jump on this old thread but I noticed you know your stuff and have experience with v-vocal corruption? I have a thread that I would love for you to check if/when you have time. Just wondering if you have seen this issue before and could possibly know a fix...Regards, Steve :)
