Gerry I looked at the hang dump you provided and replied to your CWBRN-54500 case. The hang occurs when VVocal tries to open its UI. Something is running out of resources and causing the hang. I expect that this is some kind of low resources issue or memory corruption. The problem itself isn't inside SONAR so there isn't much we can do to address it unfortunately since Cakewalk doesn't own the code for VVocal.

Hi Noel, sorry to jump on this old thread but I noticed you know your stuff and have experience with v-vocal corruption? I have a thread that I would love for you to check if/when you have time. Just wondering if you have seen this issue before and could possibly know a fix...Regards, Steve :)

Cakewalk at this time has gone out of business. Hopefully it will be resurrected - who knows. So Noel isn't' around here anymore. Explain your problem. I've tried Melodyne and like V-Vocal better, so I've learned a lot about the quirks. Maybe I can help

As he explained, V-Vocal is Roland code who no longer owns Cakewalk. Cakewalk is owned by Gibson who no longer wishes to continue operations. The only chance of getting any code fixes for VV is from Roland and the chances of that I suspect sadly are less than zero. Maybe time to find alternative solutions.

Hi Gerry, yea I heard about that. I guess I'm screwed then. I have lost my latest song just after I mastered it and rendered (at least I have that and the audio files). I made a thread but I can't post it here. If you look at my profile it will show it. It's "Song crashes on Sonar 6 & X3 at 96%". I have tried all that I can so I think only a techie could possibly salvage the cwp file. Thanks for your time :)

Yea, I love Sonar in many ways but it has given me a fair number of headaches and now this soul crushing experience. Looking at Studio One Pro 3 at the moment. I like the reviews and I just played about with it, feels good!
Cheers! :)

Yeah Melodyne works on Studio One and Sonar in almost an identical fashion.

I must say that I prefer v-vocal, but I guess if it's causing so many issues it's time to move on...
