All of them come close.

This statement is so diabolically untrue, it's not funny.....  unless all you need is a DAW that is little more than a glorified tape recorder...

Actually it is very true. Ironically enough, I find Sonar to be "little more than a glorified tape recorder," in that using the program as such is pretty much the only way to avoid many of the catastrophic bugs and stability issues that wreck your creativity and workflow when trying to wield large, complex projects in the thing. There are DAW's that are smoother, more stable, less buggy and every bit as capable as Sonar.

I thought I described exactly what you wanted to do just a different approch  instead of copying the note, you just draw it over the ghosted note of the original. You can quickly deal with as many tracks as you like. It takes seconds to do this if you get in the groove, just like any task on a computer, practice makes things go fast..  This also gives me the option of drawing the notes as different values or even splittting a 1/4 note into two 1/8 notes for a certain instrument. The smart tool is brilliant for this and using snap and note value settings etc you get what you are asking for no problem.
Fact is that usingany software is it rarely will do things the way you think it's should, so we adapt to how the programer though it should work,, but it does work.

I've been doing this for quite some time now. Years to be exact.
Do it in Track View.
Expand TV just enough so that the horizontal bar appears on top. Lasso the notes you intend to copy/move. Then position your mouse over the top bar. It changes from a pointer to a cross. Then holding the mouse engaged. Drag.

Yeah? What Daw has a piano scroll view where you can see all the tracks at once and in different colors for each instrument?

Hi there... SAMPLITUDE does the above mentioned job, exactly like SONAR....

Yeah, but try to enter triplets in the score view in Samplitude. Or set the resolution to 960 and see how the position and duration of the notes are displayed/entered ... No, I think the Sonar MIDI part is definitly ahead of many other DAWs, even if I have found also very good stuff in Samplitude Pro Suite (very quick and cool zooming possibilities, better integration of Kontakt with FX templates, ...).
