No need for either one here. X3c is running fine.

Translation - "I don't use the tools that need fixing."  Great, but that does not change the fact that Xc3 seems to have created a few bugs that have been widely reported already and need to be fixed (and Cakewalk has already said they are working to fix them).

Agreed. I should have been more clear in my first post. I was basically referring to the issues with the CE's and the Quad Curve EQ.

Currently we are aware of these issues and most have reported that flipping off the 64bit Double Precision Engine in Edit > Preferences > Audio > Driver Settings has helped alleviate some of these issues. I understand that this is not a solution for the problem at hand, but I can assure you that we are aware of this. Are you are experiencing any other issues within the software?

My Quad Curve EQ seems to be fine on X3c by the way. I just spent a few hours on a new project running it on 15 mono audio tracks and 4 busses with no issue. Using console emulator on everything too by the way.
EDIT not to mention I'm being blasphemous and running everything on my laptop's on-board audio with Asio4All.
I find it really strange how this seems to randomly effect some systems while others are fine. Especially since it seems an internal Sonar issue, unrelated to 3rd party plugins.

I'm starting to think some bugs are like UFOs. Credible people swear they've seen them, others see something they mistake as a UFO, and if someone has never seen a UFO, they think it's all a bunch of hogwash

And of course, after I said that and reopened the same project, it started to malfunction. If I have the QC EQ open and playback is stopped, it will be fine for a few seconds, then the (inaudible) right channel will start maxing out and all the frequencies go up and never go down again. They come down after a while, and I can use it for a couple more seconds. Still no buzz on console emulator. This is the same project and same machine as before.

Hey Dan, The only issue I've been able to reproduce with X3c is toggling the grid on and off with the N key. When the indicator is lit blue (on) there are no grid lines. When I turn it off the grid lines appear. Should be the opposite of what is happening, no?

CE's and Quad Curve are working fine for me so far.

I realize X3c introduced bugs, but I guess I'm not going deep enough with the software to experience any of them. By the time I get there I'm sure they'll be fixed...

I'm thinking that it might be an idea to slow down a bit with the patches.

Sure it's nice to have things fixed, but going so fast that you introduce new non-trivial bugs could be disastrous.

I can image a few "oh sh*t !" exclamations inside Cakewalk once it became evident X3c had problems.

I'm not criticising anyone, just voicing a concern.

Slow down????   Dude...Just review the lengthy list of improvements/fixes/tweaks in X3 and compare it to the few newly introduced issues or unresolved ones...

100 steps forward and 5 steps back....in an exquisite, complex, and truly AMAZING creation.

Reporting issues is fine as these bakers are makin' yummy cookies these days...

and I don't care if we get to X3g... I'm friggin' blown away!!!

All I know is that CW is working on reported issues. I venture they'll put max resources on seeing what's up with those having issues in 64-bit mode. Give 'em some room to debug and track these issues down - if it was easy, everybody would be doing it.  No need for further speculation.

Speaking as someone who has seen both bugs and UFOs, I'd have to agree.
