I'm thinking that it might be an idea to slow down a bit with the patches.

Sure it's nice to have things fixed, but going so fast that you introduce new non-trivial bugs could be disastrous.

I can image a few "oh sh*t !" exclamations inside Cakewalk once it became evident X3c had problems.

I'm not criticising anyone, just voicing a concern.

im not even sure how to reply to this ?
"once it became evident X3c had problems"

im not seeing it.

I'm starting to think some bugs are like UFOs. Credible people swear they've seen them, others see something they mistake as a UFO, and if someone has never seen a UFO, they think it's all a bunch of hogwash

Well, I've seen UFOs and I still don't believe... they will ever be identified.

To be fair, a UFO is simply a flying object that's unrecognizable by the observer, who may or may not be under the influence of a variety of unidentifiable substances...
without lab testing anyway.

Well then, you haven't been reading all the posts.

I keep thinking of the poor blokes who don't spend all day in this forum wondering why things no longer work properly, like the CE.

I guess that either you don't use the 64 bit double precision engine, Chuck or, you don't use the Console Emulator and Quad Curve EQ analyser.

But at least it's a bug that easily handled - turn off 64bit double precision for real-time playback.  I would think this is simple enough until CW comes out with a true fix.  Which I guess is my way of saying...   OK, next?

Usually I wait a few days to see the impact of a new patch, but X3b was working very well for me so I thought "what could be the harm?" and installed X3c right away. I immediately noticed the mono track CE buzz (but at least there was an easy work-around.) If that is the worst problem I have with X3, I say "Great job CakeWalk!".

I find it really strange how this seems to randomly effect some systems while others are fine. Especially since it seems an internal Sonar issue, unrelated to 3rd party plugins.

I think you are definitely on to something here, Craig.  I think the first finding of a UFO bug was documented on the cover Journey's sixth studio album entitled, "Departure."

Keen insight as always, Sir.

Kind regards,

I did post this originally before I had it installed and in use and only per the numerous
bugs and issues, more than previous two updates.
I was only trying to help with a suggestion to just reissue Xc if there were so many issues.
So I hadn't even installed it.
I have installed since and recorded several tracks with no probs.
I haven't mixed down anything yet hopefully it'l be fine.
So it looks like it't just be a patch fix after all.

Okay I have a plugin issue when opening another pjt or trying to mix yesterdays recording or add a plug. Lots of plugin not found.
Another oddity, mouse freezes for a moment when scrolling.
And twice now starting X3 and installing AD there is like a slow down. Like system busy.
Restarting X3 solves it. Could be a driver issue here.
I think I might roll back to X3b

I have checked over the forum and am going to try a global plugin rescan. Come to think of it didn't do one.
