I agree that color customization needs work in X3.  I get so tired of light yellow notes in PRV, that are nearly invisible against the grid.  I would like to see the notes in PRV take the same color of notes in a clip in track view automatically.  At least, the notes in PRV should take the same color as the background color of the track header in TV.  There are many instances of CW using low contrasting colors throughout, such as in the control bar. Light gray lettering against a dark gray background as the default is not logical at all.  CW, please increase the contrast in your default coloring schemes!

Hi Lynn. Try changing the color of the track. The color of the PRV notes change according to whatever color you choose for that track.

I've spent HOURS trying to get X3 colours to be as it was in 8.5 but to no avail. You cannot change the background colour of say a midi clip, and when it is selected the background changes to grey. Consequently I am back with using 8.5. Any solution to this please Cakewalk/Gibson?

Why? Both the MIDI clip background color and selected clip color can be changed. The former in the Clip Inspector and the latter in Preferences > Customization > Color.

Who says you cannot change the background colour of a Midi clip?
 

The only thing I haven't been able to figure out is having a different color for the track strip and PRV, though that's not real important for me, TBH.   Otherwise I haven't found any limitations that seem to negatively affect me, outside of not being able to set default colors for clips ahead of time.    And even that, for me, isn't something I used all the time anyway.
