EDIT 11/4/2013: Note this is an old X1-based thread brought back to life after three years with post #10. F9/F10 have been From/Thru = Now since Cakewalk 1.0 for DOS! I am not about to try to unlearn that habit now after 22 years! And they unbound Ctrl-F9 and Ctrl-F10 from From = Beginning and Thru=End, but then didn't use them for anything else...?
Likewise F7/F8 have been Go to From/Thru for as long as I can remember, and I use them all the time to go to the beginning or end of a selected note or clip.
Some of these changes are just nutty for oldtimers like me. It's all fixable, of course, by setting custom bindings, but I think there definitely should have been an option to revert X1 to traditional shortcut conventions. I'm trying to keep an open mind to the changes, but some of them are really not working for me.
I especially don't understand the shortcut keys that were unbound, and then not re-used for something else (Ctrl-M, and Shift-A are two more).
This interface has turned me into Larry, Moe and Curly all rolled into one.
