I installed Sonar X3c update yesterday (01/11/13) and today (02/11/13) I loaded a project that I previously loaded in Sonar X3b. On loading the project a message was displayed that Sonar could not find the CLSID for BFD2 64Bit VST:-
{141AC902-0000-0000-4246-443200000000} and displayed inappropriate CLSID as a substitute. So BFD2 64bit was not loaded.

I looked for the BFD2 32 Bit and 64Bit VST in Regedit and the CLSID I found is:-
{141AC902-3244-4642-4246-443200000000}.

The BFD2 64bit VST is present in the Plugin Manager in the Registered Plugins Window  and in the Plugin Layout Window. But only the BFD2 32bit version is present in the Browser Instruments Window and now only a BFD2 32bit version can be loaded. Not sure what to do.

I noticed that in Sonar X3c the Plugin Scanner now displays New, Removed and additionally now Errors.

Any ideas?.

Did you try to roll back to X3b? It might be a contingency in case some of our friends cannot help you quick and if you are in a rush.
Good luck.

In the other thread, Cakewalk said to rescan with the newest update.
Try that and let us know.

I always re-scan after an update, just in case.

Thanks, I have tried several rescans, with no change.

The strange thing is as I said "The BFD2 64bit VST is present in the Plugin Manager in the Registered Plugins Window and in the Plugin Layout Window. But only the BFD2 32bit version is present in the Browser Instruments Window and now only a BFD2 32bit version can be loaded".

So the Plugin Manager shows the BFD2 64bit is present in the Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins.  The Browser Instruments Window just shows BFD2 32bit is present.

Dan Gonzalez or other members of the Cakewalk team might have an idea of what is happening and what to do.

Just tried uninstalling Sonar X3c and new install, no effect on problem. BFD2 64bit still not available in Instrument Browser Window.

Is this when using Default plugin layout, the one that displays all plugins?   If so, in the Plugin Manager, are you able to drag the 64bit version into any layout?

The problem has been partially solved because.

I have solved the disappearance of the BFD2 64bit plugin in the Instrument Browser Window. I did a reinstall of a BFD2 update, checking they went into the correct folders. After the reinstall the BFD2 64bit plugin was in the Instrument Browser Window.

But the project that would not load with BFD2 correctly, still does not load with BFD2 correctly. The project when loading would again inform me that Sonar could not find the CLSID for BFD2 64Bit VST:-
{141AC902-0000-0000-4246-443200000000}

So why did BFD2 CLSID suddenly change?,  was it installing Sonar X3?c, or a problem I had with a Waves upgrade?, or both?.
