Hi,
A Pro 800 (current product) currently does not work in Win10. Allegedly drivers are "under testing"
I'm hoping this is a very poorly worded suggestion that the drivers are being worked on. However the latest legend on their website suggests otherwise.
Roland driver advice seems to imply that they cannot be bothered to make their devices compatible.
Roland appear to have stuck two fingers up at their customers, and I hope they lose most of them if this attitude continues:
Note the legends, no suggestion of drivers in development

Rob, have you really tested that it does not work as a control surface in SONAR? I am almost sure it should work as MIDI keyboard in Standard mode (see page 65 in the manual). It can be some milliseconds slower (it at all, I have not managed to notice the difference with my A500S), but it is using standard drivers in this case. Many boards (Launchkey for example) have no "special" mode/driver at all and it seems like people are still happy.

I have seen a link from this forum to roland website saying a pro win 10 compatibility is under testing. I can't seems to get to that page from the search box in rolandus.com site. However, if you go to their produce page the a pro series are still current products on sale. So I am hoping that the win driver will be out soon.

I haven't tried that, I am not bothered particularly about that functionality. Though I have seen comments from people complaining about the functionality in Sonar I have not tested this for myself.

Much, much more important is getting it to work at all in Win10.
Currently the drivers stall during install, as do several other Roland drivers it seems.
I would add a link to the Win10 driver status but this site wont let me.

A-PRO Control Surface Plug-in for SONAR : Sorry but it is out of support.

So, the question is either these devices work without Roland drivers and with (no longer supported) Roland Sonar plug-in. My guess it should work. But someone has to test that.

Yes. Thank you rob james. Read the manual at pages 65 and 73. There is a different driver that most of us are not aware of. At sonar midi preferance where you choose your controller, choose the a-pro3(something like that). I had so far tested the start and stop button only.

Thanks for that Musichoo, maybe worth looking into for some.
I have reverted to Windows 7 for the time being as this is my main keyboard.
I don't want to rely on crippled drivers and the manual makes it pretty clear that's what you get.

I would be interested in your further investigation though. If it responds quickly with no extra latency, all sliders, pads and pot's, and most especially after-touch work equally smoothly then maybe it would be worth looking at.
Roland make no notes of this in the compatibility notes, I would expect them to offer this as a workaround if the performance is respectable.
