Vox level is fine here, but when the singing starts, just bring your banjax down a hair. Did you pan your main vocal slightly to the right? You might keep it dead center and pan the banjax.

Like the electric guitar when it comes in!!!

For me also, some snappy percussion should really be brought in as well. That would kill. And a bass lick, the standard A -E - A -E just dropping a fourth. G -D-G-D.     It would drive it.

Your vocals are very evocative - really nice job on this!

Lovely open yet intimate, nice one guys you have a very listenable voice Tim with some cool picking, good mix and guitar James.  Excellent job all round.

Excellent, James!  Your voice shines in this.  It seems like everything you touch turns to gold.

whack
Great songwriting and the lyrics are very impressive and poetic.

The only crit like the rest was that arpeggioed guitar throughout masked the vocal a bit, too zingy, bring up the leadvox a hair or send or deaden that riff a little.

3:37 possibly could of had drums to the end

James,

Great production.   I see you are still working with Peter Gabriel;)  He really sounds like him IMHO...  You could push the LVOX up a hair but overall superbly produced.   I really like the introduction of the guitar around 2:10, that is a nice texture.   Was almost expecting an In The Air Tonight moment with drums kicking in at the end...the guitar tease built that anticipation I guess...   Really awesome production.

Regards

Very nice compliments Mark, thanks so much!

That's the answer I think.

Did you pan your main vocal slightly to the right? You might keep it dead center and pan the banjax.

No, vocal is dead centre, banjax is 27% left.

Like the electric guitar when it comes in!!!

Thanks!

Maybe, but that would be a different song. Trying to keep this as near as we can to the two of us playing the song, no 'pretend band'.

Tim's the singer, and I agree

Thanks Tom!
