For future reference, you can quickly create a click track manually that only needs to be one bar long, and can tailor it to your taste. Save that as a groove clip, and drag it into the browser. Then you can drag it into any project and immediately roll it out to the song length.
 
Session Drummer 3 allows you to drag in wav samples to do the same with a simple MIDI clip (and also allows you to alter the samples and MIDI at will). You can also bounce that to audio and groove it to have "just audio" in the click track if desired.

That's similar to what I did except I didn't use groove clip. I just created a few MIDI beats and rolled it out with copy then paste with repetitions specified. Interesting about SD3 features, thanks. I have not used it at all.

Can anyone answer my other question,  where did the INTERPOLATE feature go in X3? I've used SONAR pre-X much more than I have X3 and have been trying to not fall back to 8.5....
