I have got a corrupted  project (wont play) and I would like to create a new blank project and then just import the tracks from the corrupted project into the new one. In protools this is prestty simple, you just use the "import session data" option which lets you import instantly any track (s) from any project into your current project. I used to own Voyetra (old school DOS sequencere) which could do that also... For some reason, I don't seem to be able to do that in Sonar. Am I missing something?

You should be able to open another project while already having one open. And then you can save a track template in the initial project and load that template into the new project. That's for the track settings. You can then copy/paste the clips from each track from one project to another.

Or... you can try closing the first project, start a new one, and drag/drop the first project file into the new project from the Browser to import.

If you see the video on my link, I give an idea of how I break up big projects into smaller ones.

If it's all audio data:
-Open a new project
-Go to the media browser and click the "Move up one level" button a few times
-Locate your problematic project on your computer
-Drag and drop the .cwp file into the new session

This will get you your audio data

What if there is also midi data? A good friend and fellow Sonar user's current project became corrupt after the X3c update, but any new project appears to be OK. My only suggestion for moving the midi data to a new project was to copy and paste with both the old and new projects open. Is there another method?

Is there any way to copy linked MIDI clips from one project to another WITHOUT breaking the links between the clips? The answer is......NO, I think. Off to feature request...
