Is it the same files that came with X2? Just wondering before bothering to DL them.

Yes, they are the same as X2. Skip them.

They are the same. You can skip that and Dimension Pro and Rapture too.

BTW... Do I need to uninstall X2 or just go over it? Also anyone using win 8.1 is the upgrade worth it? did they add support for legacy drivers? And would it be wise to update to 8.1 before or after installing X3? Just putting the questions out there hopefully to get some clarity.

You don't need to uninstall any previous version, in fact there are several good reasons to leave them all installed on your machine, and, new versions don't install "on top" of older ones, they co-exist side by side

Can't help you with Win 8 issues, I'm still on Win 7

Good to know. Thanks! Yea I would like to hear from some users of Windows 8.1 especially those using a Firewire interface. Like the 1884 or RME fireface 800.

I have X3 installed on my home PC with Win8.1, Q6600, 4g DDR2, Windows default drivers for the Realtec audio, and I am surprised by how much I can do with this setup.

I have a 29trk (imported) audio project going with no dropouts. I do have a minimum amount of plugs inserted at the moment, but plan to add more and see how far I can push this thing.

I have done some tests with four or five synths that come with X3 and as I say, I'm surprised.
