I know video improvements are now in X3d....but when is that slated?

Never understood why video was always a LOW priority for Cake.

I blame the Red Sox.

I don't follow baseball but if the Jays WS win in Toronto I lived through many moons ago is any indication of how things went down in Boston last night... well I hope there are still some buildings standing. ;-)

Can someone please post the file signature for the x3c update download? md5 or any sha.
I can't find it on the cakewalk site.

Thanks

I am however curious how those other DAWs would achieve that. Does it use some kind of pre process where it triggers the MIDI then starts playback midway through or does it just trigger the note when you hit playback? If it is the former that seems like it would either cause a delay and/or eat up extra processing power.

Seriously... curious about that.

As far as enhancements, and maybe this is already possible but I don't think so, I was thinking earlier as I looked at one of my projects that a per clip send option would be cool. Like say you have a bunch of clips on a track and you'd like one of those clips to use the processing on a specific buss (say a delay or reberb buss or you have your guitar sim(s) set up on busses instead of on the track). Being able to open something like the Clip FX bin on the clip and add a send to that bus could be cool and save some effort or having to add extra tracks.

I know that can probably be done with automation or perhaps FX Chains (not sure if there is a send feature with chains) but being able to just right click on the clip and toss a send on it would be neat.

But that could wait for X4... or never... whatevs. Just pontificating.

I'd say automation would be your friend here.
It's easy to set up an envelope controlling the Send level to whatever buss(es) you want and now that we have automation lanes you always know which envelope you're editing

It's not low priority, it's just requires a LOT of work (just like VST3 and ARA did). Don't worry. Not low priority.

I knew you'd like that ;)

Your report actually helped us nail the coffin in that one. Thanks again!

Really though... I have to know, why did the chord names warp like that? It was crazy and I totally gave up trying to use it. That will make that feature usable again and I need it for printing/printscreening lessons or compositions for other musicinas/students. Good one.

Yeah, just thought it might be a neat time saver. Not sure how hard it would be to code something like that. Instead of hard coding it maybe they could created a simple plug in specifically designed to act as a sends module from an effects bin. Actually that might be more versatile because then you could put it anywhere in the chain instead of just using Pre/Post settings. Not sure if any of the low footprint plugs already do that.

But as I said... just letting my mind wander. It's no biggie. It looks like the new comping method incorporates a bunch of stuff I used to talk about in regards to lanes and the parent track... except much more refined. I doubt those posts had anything to do with that but you can never be sure when or if ramblings here get the Bakers wheels spinning... well unless they specifically state so.

The fact that another DAW created hacks to their own software to allow something as asinine as playing a midi note halfway through does not mean that is a flaw in Sonar.  Midi does have some limitations but Cakewalk did not invent the specifications.

Thanks for the great updates!  The audio engine does seem a bit snappier.

Since folks are asking about other items that are still on the "to betterize" list, may I ask if the ability to export audio from individual take lanes is slated for X3d?  I was hoping it would make it into X3c, but I see that this did not happen.

By the way, as native Bostonian (since transplanted to DC) let me say a big Go Sox!  Wish I could have been in town to witness the take part in the scene first hand.
