Well I will chime in here....
Sonar has been a long process of updates and fixes, and such since ,...?...well since its creation...And I bought in at X1, and paid for 2x with some updates and problems not solved, and then x3b...for more updates....fixes and such...How could it be released with some of these problems as stable?.. or working correctly, if it has to be updated and fixed continually?....Not that I am complaining...as I have done some work with it, although light use...It works for me...as it is, with some issues , probably device driver related ...but if I dive in, and start using the more complex features and plugins and soft synths....Well as we all have read, there are issues with some systems!...and thus the fixes...which I believe should have been R&D out before releasing it as X3....
As I have seen this with AVID, and other DAWS...over the years....it cost us users plenty over time.
Now...I know Cakewalk means well, and wants to get that fan base up in moral spirits....No DAW is Perfect yet..(cause I bought em all)..and this has been carrying on since PC and Macs have been in service.....When is it going to be rock solid?....The answer my friends, is blowing in the wind...it seems....as no standard stays standard for long....even with devices.
So onwards and backwards seems to be the order of the times....Shrubberies and Mead for all....and a wink wink, nudge nudge, Know what I mean, say no more...stands as is.
I am still seeing issues posted, that have not been addressed by the patch rendition of X3C, and some stated that still remain unfixed...So I imagine they could have tested and resolved, waited to address more issues, and be late with the promise...But sought to fulfill a promise of time released minimums instead!....Thanks to honesty and valour and ethics...Cakewalk is pretty Good on their word....Blessing and merriment round the table, for the next update path!
I hope forgiveness and or good will prevail over our heads, for the continually coming blessings!
and my wish for MP3 inclusion for the next "Producer" upgrade paid issue.
Sir Les
