It's kind of fascinating to watch all you beta testers hard at work.  Up until today I felt that you were more or less being (ab)used by Cakewalk to do their beta testing for them, for free.

I had a sort of revelation a few hours ago.  First, I get the impression some of you really enjoy doing this and second, the help you provide Cakewalk makes the whole thing a team effort and may very well be contributing substantially to Sonar's very reasonable price (ignoring for the moment the issue of bugs that persist).

So keep up the good work.  If I and my family weren't broke (we weren't last year) I'd have certainly already bought the update.  Now I want to make sure I get something useful, and I don't need any of the new bells and whistles.

SONAR X3 has been pretty stable from the initial release and I don't think the majority of X3 customers feel like they are being abused at all. The reality is that in the field, issues come up and they get reported back to us. This isn't specific to SONAR but every software out there. We've been hard at work and listening to users. We are committed to keep on improving SONAR beyond the initial release.

Andrew , may i suggest a simple thing :
a data base with dynamic update as soon as a bug is validated and escaladed by you guyz , like this we will not spend time in those kinda of bulsssshhhit  ....

exemple : i have a bug A , i check the list , if it's in , i move on , if not , i post and submit then if no workaround

Thanks for the suggestion. I am not in development but I'll pass along for sure.

And then become open source LOL :)

On a more serious note yup public bug trackers are always a good idea in my view as long as they are kept simple for the end consumer to view and doesn't get into the minefield of QA regression testing and developer opinions.
The flipside is that it can be used against Cake in that the product could be perceived to be too buggy when all software has lots of bugs.

there must be reasons why the bug tracker's not public, it's been requested many many times over the years...

hockeyjxWhen something doesn't work as you think it should. it is frustrating. It sucks that you are frustrated. But when considering true bugs versus "there may be something wrong on my end", there are a few things to consider. 1) If small-to-no-users can't reproduce the issue... it may be you2) It could be Cake3) Use the forum like you are to find your solution. Or try different ways to fix it (i.e. are your plugins/hardware drivers current?)4) Build a box from scratch and see how it works. Work through it to see if you can make headway, because I don't encounter the same issues as you.

everything was done , all bugs were confirm by some dudes , i moved on exept some that keep focusing on "my syetem" , "me " and all ;) By the way X3C installed can reach my synth from syynths rack ...anybody can repoduce ?  i can from the insert  option and the browser/synth zone

Zo - your screenshots above don't say a damn thing. I have no issues with soloing tracks and synths going out of time. I have never had the missing Asio buffer setting as shown on your screen. Rather than "CONFIRMED BUGS" I submit that these are unique to your system - what "dudes" have confirmed these problems?
Are you saying the solo bug you are referring to is related to the metronome bug that has been reported elsewhere, (and is not universal by the way)?

X3 is great and getting better. In case there's any doubt your contribution to this post has contributed nothing. There's a party going on and you're stuck outside looking in through the window. I get it. It hurts.

Actually, it was an apology of sorts for having rained on your parade.

Paul - looking at the responses to your post it wasn't taken that way. In any case - while I don't feel like a beta tester at all, and X3 is a great release (IMO) - I will apologize myself for taking an unwarranted shot at you - hope you find the means to join the party yourself one day soon.

So do I.  I appreciate your post, Brando.

X3's release has caused me quite a bit of confusion which I'm trying to sort out.
