Well I must have done something because now when I run Sonar, it wants to know which user acct to run it with.
Admin is one choice but I have no idea what password it wants, not having used admin.
Problem tho, the default is current user which also needs a passwd and I have none, which it won't accept.
It runs anyway calling it Sonar PDRbut then says "Sonar will now personalize your user settings by copying application data files".
The it says "no instrument definitions" and won't run any song files.
Opening a file it crashes.
I'm able to run it thru the Start/cakewalk instead of the shortcut I've always used.
This is weird but, if I get it working, may allow me to install a stubborn plug (Sonivox) that has not been showing up.

Hey it's your PC M_Glenn_M you may end up in difficulty one day if you don't know your admin password as that's the key to all things internal :)
Which version of Sonar? The only version that's going to run on XP is X1.

Doh I just saw X1D stated in your header... Anyway this could be useful:

... otherwise you might be looking at an OS reinstall....
