  • Deleting a hole - automation not moved as well?

I must admit I'm still a little shaky on how "delete hole" in the Delete Special dialog works. I'm assuming that you should be able to just select a range of the timeline with all tracks selected, and when you delete it everything to the right will shift across accordingly to fill the gap. Well everything did shift...except the automation. That stayed where it was. So now I'm faced with the task of shifting all my automation across manually. Why doesn't it just shift the automation over as well?

Maybe If your automation lines are collapsed and "Display Ghosted Data" (View>Display)  option is unchecked , automation lines can not be moved/edited with clips. You should turn on "Display Ghosted Data" option.

I'm on an old version so I'm guessing you need to make sure select automation with clips option is turned on.

I'm still on X3b and it appears to be working here.

I know that's probably not much help.
I also tried with some Bus automation, and no problems.
Are you sure you had everything selected and all the options checked in the delete dialog ?

I get caught out with it sometimes.
It used to be buggy in some earlier versions, and made my head spin more than a few times.
Seems to be working reliably here so far.
