I have now done two recording sessions with comp mode, and while I am duly impressed i have a few questions/issues 
 
1. I simply never see the blue header bar on the comp track... to my understanding it should be on the track, then on the comp take after flatten comp is executed no?.. what am i missing?
 

 
2. Now.. After getting a comp take that i am happy with, and flattening it. It becomes locked. At this point, it being vocals, i wish to mute breaths and do some minor clean up edits before processing the vocals with any hardware/VST. What is the best (or recommended) way to do this?.. unlock the comp take and edit it, or clone to another track and edit it there as a clip?.. bit confused.
 
3. Say i wish to adjust some transients to improve timing.. its not possible to adjust anything with audiosnap on the comp take..(not that i am anything other than a neophyte with audiosnap)..ideas?. workflow process? same as above?

1. Not sure why you're not seeing the blue title bar on the Comp track (imported colors from earlier version interfering, maybe?), but I think it's normal that the flattened comp will not look any different from other takes.
 
2. I think you can just treat the flattened comp like any other take and use Melodyne on it or Audiosnap, etc. The locking and soloing is just a convenience. You can always unsolo it, mute it, and generate a new flattened comp from the original takes to try something else.
 
3. Yes, you can edit the flattened comp take after unlocking it, but the Comp track is just a representation of the active take lanes, and can't be edited directly beyond moving it.

For #1. It looks to me like you may have "Maximise Waveform Height" checked, that removes the header bar. You'll find it in the Track View menu - "View-->Display".
