I would be interested. I use a bit simpler version of the template. Best thing that we added last year was the ‘Undo’ button. Saved me numerous 5 meter walks to the computer. Can you post it on Alexy’s site under The TouchOSC topic? Or whatever is convenient. Thanks!!

I will do that tomorrow. Yeah, I've got Undo implemented, as well as FF, REW, and some other bells and whistles. I added some more stuff today, just simple buttons for toggling the Inspector, Browser, Pro Channel, Bus pane, Synth rack, and Multidock. They do not have feedback yet - so the buttons don't light up and change state to match the program - I could not find a way to create a feedback monitor for those states, maybe Alexey can help with that... but otherwise I'm pretty sure it's solid at this point and does not destabilize Sonar - I've been stress-testing it this afternoon and it's been smooth sailing. 
 
[EDIT: I spoke too soon, I'm still getting some crashes, so it looks like I have to keep digging to see what could be causing it - usually too many monitor calls hidden somewhere in the structure... ]
 
It's formatted for my 8" tablet, so likely a bit wide for some phones, but it's pretty easy to move stuff around in the TouchOSC editor without breaking compatibility...

I am very interested in your app.  Please let me know when I could try it.  I am having some trouble getting this to work with my setup.   I have a new Fire HD 8 tablet, so my screens should look ok.

Hi... Yeah it's very much not my app, I just kind of adapted and expanded on what Alexey provided in terms of a layout for TouchOSC and a corresponding preset for his AZcontroller plugin. But yes, I'm happy to share what I have done. I've ended up having to go out of town for the weekend so can't access my studio machine where the relevant files reside, but I'll be home tomorrow and should be able to post something then.

It can be a bit tricky getting the plugin, preset and layout all playing nice with each other, but there are instructions and tutorials on Alexey's website, and a video walkthrough on YouTube as well, plus he's generally awesome and willing to help people if you reach out to him. If you can't get his plugin, preset and layout working then my files won't help, as they work exactly the same way. I'll upload them somewhere and link here tomorrow... Good luck till then!

Tomorrow is cool for me.   I should have mentioned Alexey in the top post to give him credit as well.  With him and Panu doing Sonar mods, ie Duckbar, and other Sonar usiers sharing what they know with other members, the Sonar community is well taken care of.

Just do what I used to do in my band's studio - leave a nice long roll-in. Hit the record button, walk from the control room into the live room, pick the instrument up or stand in front of the mic etc, put the cans on, wait for the count in... click, click, click, click from the drumsticks and off we go :) I had thought of having a controller or a computer keyboard, mouse and screen in the live room, but the long roll in method worked fine. If there was another band member on hand they would hit the record button for me, but I often did my takes at about 3am in the morning.
 
I also used to use the long roll in method back in the early 90's when I worked with tape although the roll in time was shorter then due to the cost of tape! So I would hit the record button, sprint through the doors into the live room, slam the doors behind me, run up and grab the instrument or stand in front of the mic, put the cams on, and the instrumental intro was often accompanied by heavy breathing. But it was the only way to do it back then! Retakes were a PITA but drop-ins could be programmed into the tape machines controller, so again I could just leave a long enough roll in to run and get ready before the drop-in point. I was much fitter then!
