When I am launching X3, I get the message; VstScan Entry Point Not Found: The procedure entry point K32EnumProcess could not be located in the dynamic link library KERnNEL32.dll.

I can open up X3, but the new included plug ins that come with X3 are not there. When I go to plug in manager and select to manually scan the plug ins, I get a similar message.

Hmm, sounds like something didn't get installed right. Turn off any virus scanners and make sure you launch the installer as an admin by right-clicking on it.

Try running an advanced install, un-check everything except the program files.

Thanks Seth,

I tried that and it still did not work.  Same message.  Should I try downloading the 4 parts and try it again?  I am running Vista 64, I guess it could be that and be the end of the road for Vista.  It just seems to be that one vst scan issue though.  Everything else seemed to work.

It may be Vista... the sys requirements are for Win7 and 8.
I'll double check though it may just be a specific redist you need to install.

Yep, I know that I am eventually going to have to install Win 8, I've been running Vista 64 flawlessly up through X2a.

So I slept on this. I got up this morning and located the Vst scan file in the Shared Utilities folder. I moved this file to a safe location and copied in the old Vst scan file from X2. X3 now appears to be doing a complete scan of all Vst's. I will check out the program here in another 20 min after it has completed.

Interesting so it looks like a dependency on something that is not available in Vista. I will look into it.
Please send in a bug report and we will investigate it. Its probably just a compile time setting that we need to change for VSTScan.

Noel,

How do I send in the bug report, I have never had to do that?

All of my old Vst scanned in properly. The new included plugs don't seem to show up, even when I directed plug in manager to the folder. I will have to work on this some more this afternoon.

Report submitted.

It seems like there is something within the VST Scan file also that allows you to load the new X3 plug ins.  The Nomadic, Lounge Lizzard, etc are shown in the directories, but don't seem to scan when you direct the Plug Manager to them.
