While a bit more than I needed... Here's a simple work around or "fix" for the snap toggle issue in PRV...
 
Now that it's separated from the Global Snap toggle via the N key, I assigned  Alt-Shift-N to PRV Snap Override... It was a previously unassigned key combo... So while still using a variation of the N key... we can toggle the snap without the mouse...
