alright: I am relatively new to MIDI. I have bought my first midi-controller, a Akai MPK mini. I tried to confirgure it at my brand new X3 studio - a pop-up told me that it will not work due to "not enough memory".

I then - just for the fun of it, tried to configure it with my X1 studio, which is still installed on the same computer. And it worked!

Does anyone of you have an idea why it works with X1 and not X3? Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question, but again, I am new to MIDI and really an old-school audio guitar guy!

A post by a tech support rep on the AKAI website says:

"You will get that [not enough memory] error when the MIDI driver is trying to communicate with multiple applications, which it cannot. You will need to only have on MIDI application open at a time."

So do you get this error with only X3 running?

In any case, based on the lack of response here, and the fact that the error is apparently coming from the AKAI driver, it seems you'd do better to take the issue to them.

did you install the software that came with the mini akai ?
I think ithere is a configuration disk that comes with the keyboard, I bought the lpk mini akai some years ago and used the software to use it in other applications.

I do agree with brundle though, this is best off taking it with them if the disk doesn't promote successful results.
