Is there a way to assign a do nothing command to the default keyboard shortcuts in X3B?

The "Do Nothing" in X3b works fine here.

There are certain keys that you can't do anything with. Such as "Space bar" That one you can't change. It's locked to "Start/Stop Playback" So you wouldn't be able to assign a "Do Nothing" command to it.

Did I understand you correctly?

Maybe the better question would be; why do you want to do this? What are you trying to accomplish? We maybe able to give you another solution.

Thanks for the replies and the screenshot. For some reason I did not see the do nothing command when I highlighted a letter. I will try that when I am back at my daw. My reason for wanting to do this is to rename and save patches with U-HE plugins. I only use a few shortcuts in Sonar.

Nope,
The do nothing command only works inside the Sonar GUI, When the focus is on the U-HE Plugin and you try to type text inside the Zebra or Diva GUI, the Sonar default key bindings are still assigned over riding the assigned "do nothing" in Sonar. This issue did not happen until the Sonar X series. I have a feeling that until more Sonar users use U-HE plugins the problem may not be fixed.

The keyboard shortcuts are not the problem WRT u-he text entry. The real villain is how the popups are created and what is going on with keyboard grab. It may take come conversation between u-he and Cakewalk to address this issue. The adjustment may need to be in the way the plug-in creates the entry dialog.

I don't see a "Do Nothing" command.

Yeah, They need to work together on that. U-HE plugins are the only one I have had this issue with.
One would think the "give all keystrokes to plugin" button in Sonar would solve the issue.
Grem, I did not see the "Do nothing" command at first either, Its about 3/4 the way down the list of key bindings.

It does give all keystrokes to that window but doesn't u-he then popup another dialog. And the dialog has the problem.

Easiest way to find "Do Nothing" function for me was using the Search feature under the Area drop down.

Yes, just like I did in the screenshot above.
