Yeh, I gotta say I'm glad to keep it going. The alternatives for the price still mostly don't match up. Now I hope X3 maintains the peace, I'm thinking of getting it next month.

IIRC the built-in effects won't work over 48kHz...just a heads-up.

You know, I never use the built-in effects. I wish there was a way to load the mixer without effects. Thanks for the heads up.

If you don't put in any fx they're not "loaded" really. Not to mention they don't take up any CPU to begin with.

I thought they were because Patchmix takes so long to load and the splashscreen says "Loading effects". Those worries are old-fashioned though, with the power of PCs today.

Right, sorry I thought you meant you had fx on and didn't want them. I sometimes use a reverb for when I'm tracking vocals. And peak meters on all tracks. And a 80Hz lows roll off for when I don't want to bother the neighbours too much - fx are useful! :) 
 
Definitely turn off the splash screen though ;)
