You have to pull the code markers out of your post John...
They'll be at the beginning and end and look like this

I got the 1638 error too.

So for the 1638 error I found this:

Relates to my screencap above.  Looks like it found another C++ version it doesn't like.  I always thought they were all supposed to be able to coexist peacefully but apparently not in all circumstances.

They recommend getting the C++ installer directly from Microsoft (link below) and installing manually.  Then try installing Neutrino and see if that works. If you get the error still, check to see if it works anyway.  It did for some of us.

Microsoft C++ Redistributable 2015

If that doesn't work I think you'll need to contact iZotope.

Seems like a lot of trouble for a plugin that does nothing.

K so, I removed all Neutrino plug-ins, from all tracks and the ProChannel FX Chain modules it was in, and continue to get the Sonar error, (i.e., "VST Plug-In Error" "The following VST plug-in failed to load c:\program files\cakewalk\vstplugins\Neutrino.dll"

It actually repeats error message 4 times, i.e., requires 4 OK responses), also still showing after renaming project, so seems I'm stuck with this annoying error message at start of any subsequent versions of this project, although not in previous, or other projects.
(I guess nothing is really free, LOL)

Anyone know how to prevent error message? and/or uninstall this plug-in (I don't see it listed in Windows, Control Panel, Programs and Features, as an uninstallable  program? Can I remove it in Sonar Plug-in Manager?
(also sent support ticket to Izotope, awaiting reply, probably Monday).

I contacted them about the C error receiving this quick reply
Hello,
Thank you for downloading Neutrino! I’m sorry you are experiencing this issue with your installation.
To resolve this issue, please complete the following:
- Uninstall “Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable” x64 and x86.
1. Close all running applications.
2. Enter your Windows Control Panel screen, and select “Uninstall a program” from the Programs category.
3. In the next window, locate Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable in the list. Right-click it and choose “Uninstall.”
- Use the link below to download the most up to date Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable driver:
https://www.microsoft.com...irmation.aspx?id=48145
After the installation process has finished please restart your computer and attempt to run the Neutrino installer. This should solve any issue you are seeing with the installer.
Thank you for reaching out and for your support!

Whoa, I've got 20 of those from 2003 till 2015 and some of them show up twice. I wonder if I should uninstall all of them? Anyone?     I'm not jumping on to it, so relax. I will wait for some wisdom, as this is not my arena! LOL

Same here from 2005 to 2015, from MS site it indicates uninstalling previous C++ versions, may cause other older programs, that may use these previous versions not to function properly.

This is due to 4 DLL's...

VST 32 bit
Vst 64 bit
VST3 32 bit
VST3 64 bit
= 4 OK's

Ironically, this desktop is only a couple years old, so those older C++ got installed with my programs. This PC only had Windows 8.1 on it, then.
Well, I'm in no hurry to do anything. I imagine I'll learn a bunch during this "episode". LOL
