I love MP2 for more pure classical composition but rarely does it work in rock or pop songs. The library is a little more subdued if your looking for that really edgey, aggressive rock sound. For the money it is a must have.

Thanks Sid. Allan already told me it would be a good addition to EastWest Hollywood. Still, it's in singer-songwriter stuff that I would use it. For that, Hollywood is, well, too Hollywood. So I'd hope that MP2 sounds more intimate, maybe to use with Embertone solo strings.

Fleer, MP2 should fit nicely for what you describe. I do love MP2 for what it does.

Soundwise
I got MP2 for symphonic/orchestral arrangements. For songs you'd probably get better results with something less realistic, something that is reminiscent of keyboard workstations.

Garritan Personal Orchestra 5 finds it's way in to a lot of my pop and rock ballads. Not the best library out there but lots of bang for the buck.

I checked. I do have the latest versions of MP2 SampleTank 3 and AmpliTube 4, plus T-Racks and Custom Shops.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. The updates loaded just fine for me. But then again I'm a dolt. So it was probably an accident.

When you insert Sample Tank, do the instruments load there? That seems to be the issue for me.

Mine installed fine.
