Hi - long-time license holder of QL Pianos, with a GIANT pain in the rear problem.

I just built a new desktop PC, and during the manual copying of the 35 DVD's from the boxed set for it, discovered at least one of the discs was now partially unreadable, resulting in the incomplete installation of the piano libraries.

SO, I was hoping to be able to use the latest version of EW Installation Center to allow me to Download and Reinstall the software - which is now known to EW Installation Center as EW Pianos Platinum (no longer called QL Pianos).

When trying to use the Download and Reinstall option from the Installation Center, I get the following error:

"EastWest sample drive not found. This product can only be installed from the EastWest sample drive. Please connect it now and try again.

Please make sure the drive contains a folder named Play Libraries."

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get past the above errors?

Tom

The larger Diamond and Platinum libraries are not (yet) downloadable ...

Thanks - astonishingly, EW support also was quite speedy in their response as well, and sure enough, the libraries for this are not downloadable, and they have indeed ceased ALL DVD production, so that plan is a no go.

They offered 2 additional thoughts to get this done:

1) Buy their external hard drive, and download from there ($129)
2) If old computer still available, copy off the old hard drive to new computer build.

The first option is a big financial 'Nope'.  The 2nd option is available - I had not gone that way because of having to open up an old laptop to extract the drive and all of that good stuff.

Option 2 is now the best option, and I was able to already open up the old laptop and remove the drive, and will copy it all off from there to the new computer's hard drives.

THANKS, for such a speedy response.  I am a long-time Sonar user, but brand new to the forums.  WAHOO!

I did manage to copy off all the QL Pianos Library content from the laptop drive, and a friend of mine is donating an old laptop drive he has lying around, and I will also place the content on that drive and leave it safely stored, in case I need to access the content again for some reason.

Now when you've got those original files, do run the Installation Center to see if there's any update to fulfill.
