The route is the common English word art from the Latin ars, with a simple addition of the combining form uria from the Greek ouron (urine) to ouria thence to Latin uria a suffix denoting a substance contained in or related to urine as in glycosuria (glucose in the urine). Thence the name Arturia means that art has been melded with piss.

Art piss.  Perfect explanation!

Hmmmmm ... another Pollock painting!

Interesting!

Nothing wrong with Pollock.

Goes quite well battered with chips and MacDonalds make their fish sandwiches out of it.

Is there some confusion between Pollack and Andres Serrano?

Why do I get the odd creeping feeling that very soon the company "Arturia" may be changing its name?

In the autobiography of Ikutaro Kakehashi (Roland's founder) he says he chose "Roland" because a) it was easily pronounceable in any language (except, ironically, his own), and b) there were no other "R"s in the vendor listing at NAMM.

I'm guessing "Arturia" has a similar explanation. Begins with "A", like every company Wylie Coyote ever mail-ordered from. And is much more easily pronounced by English speakers than "Pommereuil".
