Hi
Just started using BIAB. All I want to do is record an acoustic guitar and export it which I have done.
Cant import it into BIAB as a keep getting an error (Division by zero) whatever that means.

When and if I get my track into BIAB and can then play in a different style rock, Reggae etc.

Then I want to export it and import back into Sonar X3 to master etc.

I have actually typed some chords into BIAB exported and then imported back into Sonar and it works.

Its just not happening the other way around from Sonar into BIAB.

So if anyone out there is using BIAB HELP.........

Cheers

You can not import your own audio into BIAB and have it modified by it into different styles.
That would be the most unbelievable thing to do, no software can do such.
Or maybe I misunderstand your question?

Yes, you can import a WAV in  BIAB as per the Etcetera video, but only so BIAB can deduce the chords in the clip.  Is that what you're wanting to do?

OK, in your  post you did not explain anything like what's in the video.
In your question you did not mention MIDI, so talking about acoustic guitar I assumed you meant audio. That video is not about audio. You just need to get your guitar track in MIDI format and follow the video.

It's not very easy with acoustic guitar. You need to play in a very "sterile" and clean way. Or do you already have the guitar as clean MIDI? You can convert audio to MIDI with Melodyne, but it doesn't happen with a push of a button.

There is no software that can take a piece of wav-music and make style variations of it.

I've not used this function in BIAB before.  I can get so far and then I'm doing something wrong.....
- In BIAB choose File, Open Audio.
- Navigate to your audio clip.
- Once it's in BIAB, click on the icon that says 'Dm' on it.  This is the chord converter.
- A popup asks you if you want to open this, click yes.
- A large chord conversion window opens, you'll probably have to pull it smaller, mine filled the screen.
- Click the button 'OK, send to BIAB'.
- A pop up appears saying Bar 1 is not set.  Click the 'Yes' button.
- The chords used in the clip now appear in the main BIAB window.
- You may get a pop up telling you about the key.
After this it all goes to pot.  I choose a style and the resulting MIDI doesn't seem to sync with the audio.  Maybe you're supposed to delete the audio and go from there as you now have to the MIDI chords.

Maybe try the BIAB forum?

Although you can not have BiaB change your audio wav you can add different musical styles to it. First make sure you are working with either a 44.1 Hz by 16-bit wav or a MP3 file.

Open Biab then under file click on launch audio chord wizard then click on your wav. Set your the first measure marker and click on ok send to BiaB. Your wav and the chords that BiaB thinks you are playing will be in the main chord window. Select your style and generate.

The audio chord wizard works best with simple chords. If you have a lot of hammer ons etc it will call them chord extension so you may have to do some chord editing in the chord window. The wizard also likes a very steady beat through out the song.

There is an audio chord wizard tutorial on PGMusic’s web site.

Good luck.
